My mama taught me that it's impolite to go to someone's home, especially for the first time, empty handed. What do you think? Do you agree? And as a hostess do you appreciate the gifts?
i always bring something! my mother never did and i was the 5 year old picking flowers in our yard to bring. i'm a baker so i usually bring some sort of baked treat when i first visit someone's house. my friend just moved into his first apartment and i brought him homemade cookie dough in a cute container with baking directions (and cookie sheets). he loved it!
I would never ever paid a visit to someone without bringing at least a little something! I think it's the best way to show the respect and appreciation to your hosts! A flower bouquet, a bottle of wine, some homemade sweet treats or yes, a box of macarons: all these things can go a long way! (ps: loving this beautiful illustration!)
